Terms of Service

By accessing and using GoCardless Receipt Maker ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. These Terms of Service govern your use of our receipt generation and automation service.

If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

GoCardless Receipt Maker is a web-based service that automatically generates and sends professional PDF receipts for GoCardless Direct Debit payments. The service includes:

• • Automated receipt generation from GoCardless payment data
• • Email delivery of receipts to your customers
• • Custom branding and template options
• • Integration with GoCardless via secure OAuth
• • Subscription management and billing

Account Creation

To use our service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Account Responsibilities

• • You are responsible for all activities under your account
• • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• • You must provide accurate and up-to-date information
• • You may not share your account with others

Free Plan

• • Up to 10 customers
• • 10 emails per month
• • Basic receipt templates
• • Standard email delivery
• • Community support

Pro Plan

• • Unlimited customers
• • Unlimited emails
• • All premium templates
• • Custom branding options
• • Auto Mode: automatic receipts when GoCardless confirms each payment (Pro)
• • Priority support
• • From £10/month billing (own email)
• • Managed Email Sending add-on available for +£10/month (total £20/month)

Billing Terms

• • Pro plan subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
• • Payment is processed securely through Stripe
• • You can cancel your subscription at any time
• • No refunds for partial months, but service continues until period end
• • Prices may change with 30 days' notice

Permitted Uses

• • Generate receipts for legitimate business transactions
• • Send receipts to actual customers who have made payments
• • Use the service for lawful business purposes only
• • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Prohibited Uses

• • Use the service for fraudulent or illegal activities
• • Send unsolicited or spam emails
• • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the service
• • Use the service to violate any third-party rights
• • Exceed your plan limits without upgrading
• • Share your account credentials with others

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

• • Customer email addresses are used solely for receipt delivery
• • We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data
• • You retain ownership of your customer data

We strive to maintain high service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• • Scheduled maintenance and updates
• • Technical issues or system failures
• • Third-party service outages (GoCardless, Stripe, etc.)
• • Force majeure events

We will provide reasonable notice for planned maintenance when possible.

Our Rights

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by GoCardless Receipt Maker and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your business data and content. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to use your data solely for providing the service to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoCardless Receipt Maker shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Your Right to Terminate

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the service will cease immediately. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by email or through the service interface.

Your continued use of the service after any such modifications constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the service.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
